True - and the closer it gets the more sick I feel.
H2b is speeding up too. Think he has realised that the first guests will arrive next Tuesday.

tree: As soon as I wrote that I felt the strange heat wave again!

This Wednesday I will get a test make up done. That is going to be strange as I normally never wear make up and I got appointments for the dentist next week (that guy surley soon retires, if we go on paying his bills!). It was Jon's idea to have some polishing done, think he has started fancying someone there...

Yesterday we also checked the mansion again. It really is perfect, not too big and not too small and surrounded by green and water - if there wouldn't be snow and ice now.

brud i Amerika: We have written our own vows and they end with:
    Today, tomorrow, forever, together,
This I promise you here and now.

It's not a church wedding though...

  • NuÄrDetDags (snart Mrs. 170307)

I am here! (More or less)

  • NuÄrDetDags (snart Mrs. 170307)

Unfortunately they are flying! Today in one week the first guests arrive and we just made a 'private schedule' for the last days - I was chocked how many 'small' things still have to be done.

But we are in a good mood and are having fun.

How is it going for you?

  • NuÄrDetDags (snart Mrs. 170307)

The 'only problem' I have at the moment is that I am sooo tired and I don't know why. I even feel too tired to worry (which is positive ).

We have about 20 guests from the UK, 20 from Germany and 20 from Sweden - so everything has to be there in three languages. That's what is stealing most of the time now. Am happy my bride's maid arrives from Germany next Tuesday, she can put it all together.

  • NuÄrDetDags (snart Mrs. 170307)

tree: You are a superduperstar (you have mail coming too )!

  • NuÄrDetDags (snart Mrs. 170307)

    Speckledust:

Well, my last weekend as unmarried lady I will probably spend with printing, cutting, gluing, wrapping,...
Can't say I am nervous - but extremely tired. Don't think I am not sleeping enough but I have so many things going on in my mind (about calls to make, programs to write, play lists that need to be set up, things that still need to be bought and/or picked up, the house needs a proper, proper cleaning before the guests arrive, aaaah, go to the hair dresser and the dentist,..., yuk!). And then there is 'normal' work that wants to be finished, the cats want attention (not to mention h2b... )!

Yesterday I had a bridal make up done (a trial of course ). Gee, I looked gorgeous! I never wear makeup and thought it would be strange but it felt (and looked) good. H2b was so delighted; he couldn't stop starring at me (he was smiling at the same time, so it was ok).

We will probably go on the proper honeymoon when we have moved to the new house, end of May maybe, or June. We will have a wedding weekend though. For the weekend after the wedding (Friday to Monday) we have booked a super duper suite in Gothenburg with 'special treatment'. We have also booked a casino package for one evening as h2b wants to see that (and I am happy he didn't suggest the motor show).

But it sounds like you are having stress, too...! I can understand that they don't want people bringing their own alcohol and stuff but a cake?! That's just stupid... And I guess joining the Swedish Church (or the English) is not an option then? I haven't got a clue how these things work but maybe it would be easier/quicker...?

The only problem -well, at least at the moment, if we had any other major problems I have forgotten them by now - is that we are getting married in 9 days and we don't have a single candle holder!! Originally I wanted candelabra but with the amount we need we would have to declare ourselves bankrupt and now I feel I have been everywhere to find single, not too ugly and cheap candle holders - it is not possible. I am already considering doing them myself - I just don't know how.

  • NuÄrDetDags (snart Mrs. 170307)

Oh, tree, it's really not nice when people can't attend! Can understand that you are disappointed (we have had that here too) but as you said, you will have a great fire work! And then send them the pictures with the 'thank you' card. Ok, I am a bit bitchy...

Well, with my h2b it is a bit of a problem: as he doesn't speak Swedish, he can't do the calls, he don't know how to sort pages in a fest program, he hasn't got a clue about decorations and if he does the play lists, they will contain 20 football songs. But he listens to me and if I give him easy orders they are being fulfilled (almost immediately).

But candle holders are solved - my brides maid brings 130 from Germany!

Speckledust, I have told all my clients not to think about contacting me from Monday on, so yes, regarding work I will hopefully be safe.

Can understand the thing with becoming a member of the church - the same reasons we have NOT to and we will have a wonderful borgerlig ceremony!

Nattson, I bet they say 'yes'!

Hanban, I think a car-boot sale is what I am going to do with my candle holders!

Don't know why all of you are talking about weekend already - you are making me (more) nervous, here it is still Thursday!! I still have one day to go before the weekend!!

  • NuÄrDetDags (snart Mrs. 170307)

My last weekend as unmarried woman ? so far?

I have tested the electrical curler from Remington and they are great, perfect, absolutely dummy proof! I did it myself, left them in my hair for about 10 minutes (to cool down) and looked like Shirley Temple afterwards (well, Shirley Temple with 5 years, admittedly). H2b's comment: "Erm, yes, well, I see where you are coming from and for a first test, erm, perfect! I bet it will look like you want it to the next time!" Hm?

The German version of the fest program is finished, only the Swedish one left ? which I will leave as it is til tomorrow. Now I will sort the music. We have about 2,000 songs that need to be catalogued?

Tomorrow ? and that is going to be funny ? h2b will help me to put in the extensions I bought. And I will finish the Swedish program, of course.

So, as I have also been to the hair dresser, we can go and pick up h2b's trousers on Monday (they were a 'bit' see-through so we had to put in extra lining) and his ring (left it for engraving).

So, I hope you all enjoy your weekend ? I am not! I am SO looking forward to the wedding and especially the hotel room afterwards!!

  • NuÄrDetDags (snart Mrs. 170307)

Just reading about your peticoats... tree, did you not say your circumference is 3 meter (not yours obviously, your peticoat's)?

Then Nattson's (Hi Nattson!) 116 could be inches (= 295 cm) or am I completely wrong? I don't even have a peticoat, I should probably keep my mouth shut...

Ok, I am off again (printing).

Hope you all have/had a lovely weekend!

  • NuÄrDetDags (snart Mrs. 170307)

Hehe, then Nattson, no Rolls Royce if you pick the huge peticoat, then you should rather rent a lorry.

The fest programs are getting there. I was so excited as I found out that my printer can print on 300 g paper ? now the cover is really heavy and 'book like'! Unfortunately the colour is not exactly what I wanted but it is still ok and I can't be bothered running around looking for a perfect beige tint.

It is still not clear how his qualities as a hair dresser are ? as the weather was so nice yesterday, we decided to go into the forest and collect fir cones, stones and twigs for the forest decoration theme.

Today I will, beside the printing stuff, make about 137 phone calls to check that everything is ok for Saturday. There better be no one that has double booked or fallen ill. The hair experiment will probably have to wait til Wednesday (and then my bride's maid is here) as I have to pick up h2b's trousers and ring tomorrow (while he is cleaning the house, so that's a good deal ).

Some people get strange with age (I see that on my dad, the nugget), maybe it is the same with your grandparents? I also had a 'funny' guest experience yesterday as one of my friends in Germany called and asked for advice on her new computer. Some weeks ago she told us she can't come to the wedding because of money and now she has a brand new computer? I know, it is not up to me to decide what people spend their money on, definitely not, but as I was really disappointed I couldn't help feeling a bit, hm, annoyed. I helped her without commenting though.

    So, back to (wedding) work!

Have a good week all of you!

  • NuÄrDetDags (snart Mrs. 170307)

Nattson: No! I have run out of paper!

But at least ALL 'Order of Service' scrolls are written (in three different languages) and printed, the guest book sheets are printed, the flower seed bags are printed, the 'thank you' scrolls for registrar, photographer... are printed! Hm, I must have forgotten something...

But I still have a spare ink cartridge left.

Good that you mention the Rolls Royce - still haven't got a written confirmation from our rental service. He will be the next one to call, even before Emmerdale.

  • NuÄrDetDags (snart Mrs. 170307)

tree: Na, as relaxed as I am I will do that tomorrow when I pick up Jon's trousers and ring. Is not as if there is nothing else to do.

Good job I called the Rolls Royce rental thing: they had written down completely wrong details! The driver wanted to go to a different hotel at a time after the ceremony!! Well, hopefully everything is sorted now.

  • NuÄrDetDags (snart Mrs. 170307)

So, girls, time to go. The next time you all here from me, I am going to be a married woman!!

All guests are still sleeping (and three of them + h2b are snoring awfully), I am having a cup of tea and will soon start packing everything then a long day starts, with decorating, shopping, final preparations...

I am too knackerd to be nervous but that will probably come. The English part of the family already loves Sweden and we had a nice get together yesterday. It was really funny and as far as I am aware, everyone enjoyed it.

So, packing. Read you all in a couple of days!
