1. Arrive Windhoek, meet and greet pick up car. Stay in Guest house.
2. You drive south to Sesriem. You camp near the
world?s highest sand dunes at Sossusvlei in the Namib Naukluft Desert, the world?s oldest desert. The dunes reach 300m high and extend as far as the eye can see. They look stunning at dawn and dusk.
3. Today you continue north about 40k into the Namib Naukluft and
spend another night amongst the dunes at Agama River.
4. Swakopmund.
Take the long and scenic drive north through the Namib Naukluft
Desert to the seaside town of Swakopmund, a quaint oasis town on the Skeleton Coast which has some great restaurants.
5. Spitzkoppe Mountain
Drive to Spitzkoppe, which is one of the most beautiful areas in
Namibia, consisting of an imposing granite rock formation set in the plains. You can walk in the area and climb up to Bushmans Paradise, a small basin tucked between the domes of rock, where you can view the rock paintings done by Bushman of the past and gaze at the amazing view.
6. Brandberg Wilderness Camp
Take the longish drive to Brandberg - the atmosphere is charming and you camp amongst the acacia trees, with a lovely contrast between the trees and the towering russet tones of the Brandberg. It is a very picturesque place.
7. Stay for one more night.
8. Etendeka Mountain Camp, Damaraland
Etendeka Mountain Camp is set in the north of Damaraland. Although it is a remote bush camp, rare sightings of giraffe, Hartmann?s mountain zebra, oryx, springbok and even desert elephant and black rhino can add an exciting bonus to your stay.
9. Stay for one more night
10. Hobatere Lodge Campsite
Hobatere Lodge is located 80km north of Kamanjab on the western
side of Etosha and situated in a concession area which extends over 32,000 hectares. The concession is home to a wide selection of game: elephant, giraffe, eland and Hartmann?s zebra.
11. Stay for one more night
12. Okaukuejo, Etosha
Etosha National Park is probably one of the best game-viewing regions in the world. Its name (meaning ?great white place of dry water?) comes from the Etosha Pan, a vast, flat, saline desert. The park protects over 100 species of mammal, 16 species of reptile and amphibian and an incredible 340 species of bird. As well as elephant, Burchell?s zebra, giraffe, cheetah, lion and leopard, Etosha is home to the protected black-faced impala and black rhino.
13. Onguma, Etosha National Park
14. Stay for one more night
15. Okonjima Main Camp
Here you can enjoy walks, scenic drives, great food and a friendly atmosphere. You can also see the wonderful work your hosts, the Hanssen family, are doing with AfriCat, set up to relocate cheetah and leopard and other trapped or injured animals back into the wild. Although the foundation
has a slightly zoo-like quality (as some of the animals are very tame and thus are not able to be released into the wild) it is important to remember that for the few kept in captivity there are many released.
16. Amani Lodge, North of Windhoek
At an altitude of 2150m, Amani Lodge is the highest situated lodge in Namibia, surrounded by the majestic Khomas Hochland Mountains.
17. Flight out from Windhoek
