Visste inte att det var så när det gällde cut och prinsesser. Funderar egentligen på att köpa lösa prinsesser och sedan låta en guldsmed här i Sverige göra ringen. Det är dock svårt att få tag på lösa diamanter i mindre storlek (till en alliansring)... Och så snubblade jag över den här hemsidan som hade en ring i min stil och till bra pris dessutom, men man känner ju sig lite osäker när det gäller att beställa från nätet. Man kan även köpa deras ringar med EGL/GIA-certifikat men då kostar det lite mer. När det gäller deras eget certifikat skrev de:
"Diamonds Factory certificate is issued by our in-house Gemmologist and Independent lab certificate are issue by independent lab. Both certificates are graded on the same standard grading system. Main difference is independent lab certificate is recognized worldwide while our in-house certificate is only for the Authenticity of the quality of diamond. You can claim full refund in case of any deviation in our in-house certified criteria. Also independent lab has more advance lab facility to give very precise grading with more details grading.
Both EGL and GIA/IGI have same grading system and standards but there is common belief that GIA/IGI is stricter lab compare to EGL. Loose diamonds GIA/IGI certified are graded using strict standards that are consistent among the various GIA/IGI locations. The EGL's grading standards vary among the EGL locations, with EGL USA locations generally grading on a slightly stricter scale than its International counterpart.
For certification our Suppliers has to sends the diamond to GIA/IGI it can take up to 6-8 weeks before they receive their diamond back. This is difficult on the wholesaler because he/she has purchased and paid for the diamond already. It's important for them to be able to sell their goods as soon as possible and GIA/IGI will hinder this. EGL on the other hand can return their goods in as little as 2 weeks allowing them to sell almost immediately. You've heard the expression..."Time is Money", right? Case in point, the longer the wholesaler has to wait for his diamonds the more money he has to sell his diamonds for. The wholesaler could buy and sell 3 diamonds in the time that it takes for the first diamond to come back from GIA. So when the GIA diamond comes back he has to sell it for more just to catch up with all the profit that he could have made if he chose to use EGL. It's simply a matter of economics! EGL also has labs in more countries than GIA/IGI so it is more convenient for supplier to get it certified and cheaper also.
We could however offer you an EGL certified diamond if we were to purchase it from an independent wholesaler who has already gone through the valuation process. This would mean we would be tendering the stone in the market - and would not be able to offer you the value price as demonstrated on our website, even though the stone may be of exactly the same classification."
