tree: When is you getting married?
"Is you" haha! I saw it just after writing it! :D
I am intruding a bit to ask a slightly OT question but thought this might be a good thread to ask. I am marrying an American whose family are coming to the wedding. Wanted to make a reception program but the Swedish example that I have only contain songs in Swedish. Do you have any songs (wedding, snapps) in English that you would be willing to send me? Really want his family to feel welcome. Thanks

When we get drunker
Melodi: When I´m sixty-four
When we get drunker, loosing our minds
many beers from now
Will we still be having us a real good time
whiskey, gin and bottles of wine
So fill up your glass now, get drunk as a skunk
don´t say you want no more
We are the singers, we are the swingers
join us, you won´t get bored
excellant!
You can have another
Melodi: Popeye the Sailor Man
You can have another yet.
They're nicer the more you get.
But if you have twenty,
you'll wake up with plenty
of headache and much regret.
They have such nice songs about marriage in Swedish, non like that in English?
Wonder why we don't have many snapps songs in the UK? Only thing I can think of is we simply can't be bothered to have to wait until a song is sung before we can have get the drink down our throats!! We keep it all short & sweet back home
So what are you all planning to do about wedding speeches? In the UK only the groom , father of bride & best man generally do a speech but here in Sweden it seems everyone & anyone can stand up & do say or sing something. First Swedish wedding we went to we were quite surprised at how long all the speeches went on & of course it's impolite to eat whilst someone is speaking so my M2B was wise to this when we were invited to our 2nd Swedish wedding & made sure he piled his plate high with food & scoffed himself before the speeches began
